A business credit file is a real and separate thing from an owner’s personal credit. Vendors and lenders report to business credit bureaus such as Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business and Equifax Business, and a company with a developed file can borrow on its own record.
One point worth understanding before starting: a separate business file does not by itself remove personal liability. Most lenders to small companies still require a personal guarantee, which puts the owner’s own assets behind the debt regardless of whose credit file the loan sits on. That is a question to put to any prospective lender directly.
