Americans For Older Driver Safety is a charitable nonprofit in Leawood, KS that works on road safety involving aging drivers. Susan Cohen and Mitchell Krasnopoler started the group in 2012, after their son Nathan was killed in a 2011 crash involving an elderly driver.
The organization describes its mission as advocating for safer roads through driver education, assessment, retraining and transitioning, and raising public awareness of risks tied to unmonitored changes in driving ability. It says it holds 501(c)(3) status and that donations are tax exempt to the extent allowed by law. Published material includes state and national crash data pages, a newsletter and past conferences.
